The Eye Center of Virginia specializes in the treatment and management of a variety of eye conditions, from the most common conditions to those that are rarer. Our medical experts are dedicated to providing the highest quality of patient care.
Ocular surface diseases (OSD) like dry eye cause a variety of uncomfortable symptoms, including sensations of itchy, burning, and gritty eyes. OSD is a common condition, and there are a variety of treatment options depending upon severity.
Cornea diseases cause visual disturbances to the cornea, including pain, blurry vision, sensitivity to light, and possible loss of vision. There are many types of cornea disease and an effective treatment plan will depend upon the diagnosis.
Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness in the United States. All types of glaucoma are characterized by damage to the optic nerve, resulting in irreversible vision loss. If glaucoma is caught early, further vision loss can be prevented.
Neuro-ophthalmic diseases are conditions caused by abnormalities in the brain or nervous system that result in visual problems. Some of these conditions can cause permanent vision loss or can become life threatening if left untreated.
Some conditions make it impossible to wear regular soft contact lenses. Patients with these conditions must wear special, custom contact lenses that require advanced technology to ensure a proper, comfortable fit.
